This is our newest addition, Henry. Although he is adorable when he is asleep, I don’t see him when he is awake. He is a speed demon, he races from trouble making place to place. I am crazy about his furry little self.
Thanks for visiting the Jamie Sampson Photography Blog. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a photo session, please drop me a line. :)

I am Jamie. I am the photographer behind Jamie Sampson Photography. I like taking pictures. It makes me feel happy inside. That's me on the left :). I am a vegetarian. I love potato chips, french fries with fry sauce, cheese enchiladas and a good cupcake. I adore shopping and watching entire seasons of tv all in one sitting. I have been known to do air guitar dance moves in front of the mirror when no one is looking. I am terrible uncordinated and cannot carry a tune to save my life. It is lovely to meet you.

To My Dear Friends,
After more than six years of working as a photographer, it’s time for me to take an indefinite break (at least for a little while) and head in a new career direction. It has been such a hard decision, but in my heart it feels like the right decision.
I have loved working with each and every one of you. I have loved the journey. I have loved being a part of your life. I have loved going into your homes and seeing the little pieces of me on your walls. I loved hearing your stories. I have loved laughing with you and hugging you and all of it. I will miss it very much. Thank you so much for all of it.
With that being said, if any one would like any additional prints, products or digital negatives please email me pronto to order or to set up an ordering session (I think this will most likely be your last opportunity to get JSP prints and products) . I am planning on closing shop the end of July but if I have more ordering sessions, I will keep the doors open through August.
The blog will still be active with my personal shoots and projects (so please still check it out). Jamie Sampson Designs will still be active and have products (I am working on some new things).
Cheers,
Jamie
Oh… Some of the little kitties below still need a home, please spread the word. Thanks.
And, some other exciting news. I have a new kitty. I took the cute little gray and white fellow named, Henry.
I had the fabulous opportunity to photograph these little fellows and ladies earlier this week. My heart melted like butter.
They are looking for homes. The deal: We are hoping to have them be inside only kitties (because inside only kitties tend to live longer lives and I want these guys to have very long lives). You have to love them lots. Take extra good care of them and give them lots of hugs and kisses everyday. They must be spayed or neutered (I say this because there are so many kittens and cats who do not have homes and so many who get euthanized because of it) and taken to the vet for regular checkups (Pam Nichols at Animal Care Center is Great, she can be reached at 801-294-5960). In other words, you have to be a great pet parent to adopt one of theses special little kitties. There is no charge for them so long as you agree to the above terms. If you are interested in adopting one of them you can call or text Debbie at 801-671-1044 or email or text me (801-548-3895 or jamie@jamie-sampson.com).

Stevie (above)
Description: She is a little girl – she is independent and loves to play, she is tiny but fearless. She fits in the palm of your hand. She gets her name from Steve Madden, she has these huge eyes and little features (like the drawings of the girls that used to advertise his shoes in the 90’s), she is beyond adorable and sweet.

Yoda (above)
Description: She is a little girl – she is the runt of the litter although she is small, she makes up for it with her feisty attitude. She has an adorable little round belly. She makes funny little growling noises when she eats.

Rascal (above)
Description: She is a little girl – she is sweet and loves to snuggle. The little pads on her feet are all dark gray. She loves to have her toes rubbed and will spread her feet apart when you rub them. She does super cute jumps in the air. She is adorable and has fabulous kitty hair.

Felix aka The Siamese (above)
Description: He is a little boy. He is super fun and playful but loves to get close and snuggle in the crook of your neck. He purrs super loud.

Pounce (above)
Description: He is a little boy. He gets his name because he jumps in the air and pounces… it is adorable. He is super playful but then loves to take a nap on your lap. I didn’t get a photo of him from above but he has these great black spots all over him, so cute.

Rowdy (above)
Description: He is a little boy. He is a little snuggle bug. He loves to lean into you and purr. He is all about snuggles. He loves having his tummy rubbed. He loves to jump and play, hence his name.
He is amazingly adorable, he is monochromatic, in the coolest way.

Henry (above)
Description: He is a little boy. He loves to be close. His favorite thing is snuggling. He loves to purr. He has been known to roll upside down and have you rub his cute round tummy. He also loves to romp around the house.

Teddy (above)
Description: He is a little boy. He is super adventurous. He loves to go exploring. He loves to lounge on his side and have you pet him. He loves to crawl on your chest and sit down and snuggle for a while. He has super thick hair and black pads on all of his feet.

I am not really sure where to begin or what to say. Other than taking a huge optimistic deep breath and enjoying the sunshine pouring in my window. In case you have not noticed or are just tuning in, I have been away for about a month. Some things happened in my life, and all of the balls I was juggling came crashing to the ground in a terrible thunderous crashing heap and I was left sitting in the rubble. I didn’t really know how to pick up the pieces or even if I really wanted to. So I left the balls sitting in ashes and decided to just take care of me for a little while. I have hiked, and ate way too much chocolate, and cried and soul searched and read, and watched 2 seasons of the Ghost Whisperer, and cried, and tried to figure things out, and cried and cried and cried some more. It is a month later and the pile of ashes are still sitting in the middle of the floor. I do think I am ready to dip my toes back into the world of photography and hopefully it will help me heal. I can’t wait! Please email me to set up a session.
BTW – Isn’t this girly adorable? I loved her. She was just what I needed. A little ray of sunshine and happiness.
The tongue photo, makes me laugh every time, she does that when she is concentrating…. I am cracking up now. And the location was to die for!

I am looking for a photographer to team up with on weddings and possibly family sessions. I am looking to slow down on my scheduling and would like some one to work with on wedding and family sessions. If you are interested email me and we can talk.

I have been absent. sorry. my world is a little upside down at the moment. I am taking a little time off to figure some things out and get some perspective. I will keep you updated and let you know the scoop once my feet land back on the ground.

I am crazy about this session, I totally wanted a day at the beach, neighborhood vibe for it.
Isn’t she adorable? … and her little dog too?
Hope your Monday is lovely.

I have been having so much fun at my photo sessions. I am doing weird dance moves while I am sitting in my chair typing this because I feel so happy about them and about my life right now and about everything. I am so thankful for all of it. For my life. For my for job. For all of the good things that are happening, I want to scream from the rooftops, THANK YOU! And then I want to eat mini milky ways and watermelon and look at the cherry blossoms because they make me happy too.
I am crazy about these photos. My subject was adorable and incredible and beyond words. AND…. she wore red lipstick! …. I LOVE red lipstick and man. oh man could she wear it!
These photos are close to my heart. I loved the feeling I had as I was looking through my lens to take them.

It is Friday afternoon. Very cool. And the weather is supposed to be nice. I can’t wait.
I have been spending a lot of time thinking about my life, and who I am, and who I want to be.
I want to be the girl who gets ice cream for no reason….
… the girl who eats lunch outside
… the girl who is so excited to see her husband when he comes home from work she can’t wait for him to unlock the door
… the girl who is so in love with life she forgets to notice the imperfections
It is a progression, but so far so good. I will keep you updated!
I am crazy about this session. In all of this thinking about life stuff, I feel like it is overflowing into my work as well. I am taking risks and doing things that just feel like me. I like it. Isn’t she the most gorgeous? I totally agree, she is.
