Bonjour...

I am Jamie.  That's me on the left  :).  I am a vegetarian.  I love potato chips, french fries with fry sauce, cheese enchiladas and a good cupcake.  I adore shopping and watching entire seasons of tv all in one sitting.  I have been known to do air guitar dance moves in front of the mirror when no one is looking.  Oh….   and….   I think photography rocks.

I thought this little series was too cute not to share. Her little top with the ruffley details and then you add her rosy lips and way blue eyes. She was dreamy.

I am crazy about this little series as well! Notice the same fab shirt? They are sisters. This was the end of the session. I beleive all of these photos were taken in approximately two minutes, the rest of the session was dedicated to group photos. :)

you know that I was hoping…

Let’s see…. where to begin?  It is Monday.  Do I need to say more?  I am officially having delusions of it being Saturday, it is making my day quite a bit nicer.

I started some new medicine.  For those of you who don’t know, I get really bad migraines, I started a daily medicine to hopefully combat me getting them.  The medicine has the weirdest side effects.  It makes my beloved (did I mention BELOVED) Diet Pepsi with lime taste like Rear End (I totally said the swear word in my head).  It is the worst.  ABSOLUTE WORST.  My diet Pepsi reign has ended.  I haven’t had one in weeks.  I miss them.  I SO miss them.  There is something so comforting about hearing the top pop open and that little fizzy noise and feeling the cold soda hit your mouth.  It is like that dog experiment where the light goes off or the bell rings and the dog salivates. Yup, that is me with the diet soda and hearing the top open.  Sad but true.  I know it is a good thing, no migraines and diet soda is not healthy for me, but I am still in mourning. Wearing black. moping around the house, giving my husband a very evil look each time each enjoys a delicious, refreshing sip of diet soda.

Other news…. No other news…. :)

Another fun senior session!   It was pouring rain… again.  My last 4 senior session,  have had terrible weather… what’s a girl to do but giggle and have some studio fun. :)   I am crazy about her pale skin and crazy cool blue eyes.

Hope your week is happy! I think I am the only one not at wppi.  So weird, it is like a world without photographers.

always and forever more

I know! I know! Isn’t she the cutest? I am one lucky photographer girly! :)

I feel like I have been out of the loop lately. Let’s catch up…

I have been watching The Fast and the Furious movies. I am addicted. I am not sure if it is Paul Walker (he’s so scrumptious) or the fast cars, but I am crazy about them. I keep having visions of being a street racer and doing those neat turns around corners and weaving in and out of traffic. This is completely hilarious because I drive a station wagon and spend 90% of the time in the slow lane and taking back roads. A girl can dream right?

I got new makeup (I have worn Prescriptives since I was in Junior High, it was discontinued at the end of January). I tried Laura Mercier. I think I dig it. I will post some photos (if the hubby will take some of me). The one thing I have noticed with it is, the skin around my eyes dehydrates, like raisins (not so attractive). If you know of a good eye moisturizer for super sensitive skin please leave me a comment and share the love.

I ate at Texas Roadhouse for the first time. I ate my body weight in rolls! It was so fun. I am avoiding the scale for several days. So worth it! Giggle! Giggle!

Hope your night is happy. :)

Oh Lookie… A Blog Post!

I have been…. just been. I feel like I am all over the place with who I am and where I am going. One second, I am crazy about photography and what I do and the next I am filled with so much doubt that tears run down my cheeks. Who am I? I am searching. I will let you know when I find out, maybe I am not supposed to know right now, maybe I need to learn something in the process of finding out… For now, I am just being okay with me and accepting where I am and who I am. I am not going to rush myself, I am going to just be and hopefully I can be okay with that.

I am crazy about this photo. Sometimes you just need a photo, and I needed this one.

Hope your day is lovely and filled with happy things.

A quiet little birthday

wafels-polo-photo-copy

It was my birthday yesterday!

It was a lovely, perfect, fabulous day.

I woke up to homemade (really homemade, from scratch, no mix) waffles with gooey chocolate chips, perfectly just ripe bananas and fluffy whip cream.  Carefully crafted by my hubby.  They were DELICIOUS and  served alongside homefries.

I was then ushered away to a couple hours of shopping.  I got a fabulous t-shirt and cardigan.  Love them!

Followed by a movie…   The Blindside.  So cute.

Dinner at my favorite Restaurant, El Matador.  It is this little Mexican restaurant.  Totally fabulous food.  I had nachos and diet pepsi for dinner.  Nothing else, not a healthy thing in site.   I loved every sinful cheesy bite.  The waiter was totally impressed (or disgusted…. I couldn’t really tell) by my ability to eat so many pounds of cheese and chips.

Then Cake with ice cream (Nothing Bundt Cakes is divine).

Followed by Super Mario Brothers on the wii with my brother and Jason (I laugh the entire time, I think we are the worst Super Mario Brother players ever) and then way too many episodes of Jersey Shore.

I can’t imagine a more fabulous day.

It has been a while (said in an embarrassed voice).  I am sorry for the delay.  But today is the day…  my first blog post of the new year.   :)

Some updates….   It is 2010…   Woot!  Woot!

I survived the holidays and enjoyed myself….   another Woot!   Woot!

And I feel happy today…  A huge Woot!  Woot!   I love happy days.

I started doing family photography at the end of last year and I dig it, so I am officially adding it to my repator.

I am learning Illustrator.  It is taking me for a walk around the block.  By the fifth hour of Illustrator training my brain is mush, and all I can do is make gurgle noises as I drown in my own brain matter…   gurgle….  gurgle….    and sip diet Pepsi (in the hopes that it will revive me and re-congeal my brain like  a jello mold).  Was that too much information?   Sorry.   :)    My hope with learning Illustrator is that I will be able to create templates to sell to other photographers for holiday cards, albums, and all sorts of other design stuff.   I am hesitant to mention this in case I don’t actually do it (over achiever and I might fail issues surfacing) ….  but I think by putting it out there and saying, “Universe this is what I want,”  I increase my odds substantially.  :)    I will keep you updated.

I had a marvelous time shooting this session.     Did you notice how adorable my subject was????   I know, so cute.    The light was crazy weird on this day…..  super flat and really just flat.  I had to dig into my bag of trusty photographer tricks to make it work.   And thank goodness I have a bag of trusty photographer tricks.   They totally saved my bacon.

One other thing….    I get emails asking questions about this and that and rather than answer each question a bunch of times, I am starting a Q&A section on the blog.  If you have questions about my photography, photography in general or really anything you would like to know (that I can help with) please email me at jamie@jamie-sampson.com

Cheers.  Peace Out.   Lots of Hugs.   Can you dig it?  Rock On!
